Subject: #showthelove at Vernon Oak, this Sunday, 2pm
From Sally Goldsmith: Hello supporters
We’re busy this week! Yesterday’s impromptu Valentine’s event at the Vernon Oak was lovely: children, young and old came. We all gave Vernon a special heart. Natalie Bennett came (ex leader of Green Party) and so did our local Lib Dem Councillor Colin Ross. I expect there were people of all political persuasions and none there! But we all love Vernon. I attach some photographs.
#showthelove event this Sunday 19th Feb, 2pm at the Vernon Oak, Vernon Road, S17: Celebrate Vernon!
We need LOTS of people to come, dressed in red or green (or both) to form a huge human heart on the ground near Vernon. There will be music, poems and things to do to decorate and celebrate Vernon some more. So, come at 2pm and show the love to him. We will make sure the Council see what we are doing and how much support there is for keeping him for another 150 years.
We are of course doing lots more to save Vernon – including trying for a stay of execution while we find out more about his legal situation. (The Council fear legal action under the Highways Act and this is one factor in their decision we think.) Any legal people or highways people out there – we need you!
Love (of course, this Valentine’s week)
And please vote here to support Rob McBride – the Treehunter
